Bitcoin Nairobi was founded by Martin Mutonga, a passionate Kenyan with a deep fascination for Bitcoin. Inspired by his Christian background, Martin chose to serve his community using Bitcoin as a tool that could address many challenges faced by young people in Kenya. Fueled by his mission to share this unique technology with the world, Martin set out to create a platform where Bitcoin could be embraced as a medium of exchange, a unit of account, and a store of value.
In early 2024, Martin launched Bitcoin Nairobi to empower the next generation through education, adoption, and innovation. Recognizing the need for accessible Bitcoin education, he also founded Bitcoin School Kenya, an online platform providing free Bitcoin classes to young people across the continent. This initiative aims to equip young minds with the knowledge and skills to navigate the rapidly evolving world of Bitcoin.
